What Is In The Social Media Schools Manifesto?

The Manifesto is a report detailing some of the biggest hurdles currently being faced by schools wishing to integrate social media and Internet technologies into their arsenal of communication and education tools.

In the report I:

  • Explain how the world is changing and how these changes are forever altering the way schools need to communicate with their parents, teachers, students, staff and community members.
  • Answer some of your biggest questions about the use of social media use in the schools.
  • Discuss the benefits of social media use.
  • Share my ideas on what is needed to build trust and credibility within your community.
  • Show you how to measure the effectiveness of social media use.
  • Tell you which social media sites and services you must be using.
  • Explain which step needs to first be taken before you can even consider using social media as an education tool in your school.
  • Plus… a whole lot more!

My Simple Formula For Social Media Success

The reason why I invested so much time to produce this report and give it away for free is because I expect many of you to read it and then decide that you would like to actually implement some of these new social media tools into your school.

My hope is that those of you wishing to put these new online tools to use over the next year will want to learn more from me and will consider signing up for The Social Media Schools Master Course, which will be released next week, and will take you by the hand as we work together to implement these new tools into your school’s aresenal of communication devices. Of course, signing up for my course is entirely optional.

The Education and Technology Manifesto I am releasing today is packed with great information for schools to use as they consider the possibilities of Internet and social media use in the future. In the report, I answer a number of biting questions schools currently have about social media use. I instruct you on how to track the success of your school’s social media campaigns and I even give you some ideas on how to save money with the use of these new online communication tools.

My Manifesto is really about getting schools to look past the potential dangers of social media use and consider, for a moment, the benefits that lie dormant in what is arguably the greatest education tool ever created – the Internet.

When first introduced to the possibilities of social media use, many schools seem to first ask, “How can social media endanger us or our students? And what can we do to prevent it?” But instead, they should be asking, “What can we do to use social media to our advantage?” And that’s what this Manifesto is really about!

The Social Media Schools Manifesto is not about the dangers of social media, nor is it a guide to preventing what challenges may come our way in the future. Instead, this report is a summary of my ideas on the future of social media use in the schools.

The Social Media Schools Master Course Coming Next Week

Many schools understand that social media is important, but they’re still afraid to take the leap. They think that before they get started they’ve got to have canned responses and backup plans for each and every possible situation that might come their way. They’re afraid of what their community might think or say, so they waste months trying to create strategic plans and policies before making the leap.

I understand there’s a lot of be frightened of when it comes to social media use in the schools. But if you are ever going to fully understand what this social media thing is all about… and you truly want to build trust and credibility within your community, you’ve got to stop being so cautious and start taking a little action.

Early next week I’m opening the doors to my training program, The Social Media Schools Master Course, and I’m inviting you to participate in a six-week training designed to get you and your school up to speed in regards to communicating through the use of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

I’ll be opening the doors on Monday, June 1st and closing them on Friday, June 5th. I’m accepting schools who are motivated to use these new online tools for only one week, after which I will shut the doors and begin teaching.

In the meantime, please read the Social Media Schools Manifesto and leave me your feedback as a reply comment to this post. I’d love to know what you think of the report and I look forward to hearing about your social media success in the year to come year.

This manifesto needs to be read by every school board member, School Administrator, and Teacher in every school across this nation. It is time the schools jump on board the technology bandwagon and keep up with the students who already have jumped on board. Good work!

I read your manifesto and was very interested. I will forward to many colleagues. Thanks.
Noticed that on the last few pages of the manifesto, when you click on your site to get more information – you have misspelled “media” so it won’t take you to your website.
Thanks again for all the information.
