How To Social Media Videos For School Administrators – Coming Soon!

We’ve got some exciting news!

SocialMediaSchools.com is currently working to create a series of how-to videos that will give school administrators a step-by-step break down of how to set up social media profiles and use social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter to connect with, educate, and inspire their teachers, students, parents, staff and community members. 

These training videos are expected to be finished by the end of May 2009 and we are rushing to get them done in time for you to integrate into your school system before the start of the 2009-2010 school year.

We believe it is imperative that we get this information out there as soon as humanly possible because we know that social media is going to play a significant role in the education system over the coming months and years.

Our plan for these videos is to answer all the major questions you might have in regards to creating, using, and moderating a social networking account.  

The first video series we plan to release will concentrate on Facebook and will take you by the hand as we show you everything that needs to be done in order to: 

  • - Set up a Facebook profile
  • - Create Facebook Pages and Groups
  • - Manage permissions and edit user comments
  • - Post information to your profile, Pages, and Groups
  • - Get the word out and let people know that your school is using Facebook
  • - Automate your Facebook account by syncing it with Twitter and your school’s website
  • - Manage your account on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • - And a whole lot more! 

We are also planning to create a number of other video series, which will cover additional social networking sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Flickr

Our first two video series, however, will focus on Facebook and Twitter, as these are the two most important social networking tools for schools at the current moment.

    Sounds like a great idea. We need something like this. There is tons of information on social media, but schools are in a sticky situation. We’re different and we need different information for our unique situation.

    I’d like to know the mistakes and successes that other schools are making, so we can all learn together. Some sort of community forum or group like that would be extremely helpful.
